Ciudad de México (9 diciembre 2004).- La cantante de pop Michelle Branch se presentará mañana en el Work a Live! Lounge de la Ciudad de México, como parte del evento Smirnoff Experience Inside, realizado por el aniversario de la marca, informó ayer un vocero del festejo.
La logística de la fiesta, donde también participarán Moenia y el DJ Harry K, del grupo Apollo 440, es que los tres cantarán, simultáneamente, en los mejores antros del sur, agregó la fuente.
"Es un tipo aniversario de lo que vienen haciendo en diferentes partes del mundo y México también se suma con una fiesta de tres eventos que es donde están invitando a Michelle, Moenia y a un DJ, para los diferentes públicos.
"Lo que se quiere es ubicar a cada artista de acuerdo al público de los consumidores de Smirnoff, que son como la juventud de ahorita", indicó.
Una vez terminados los tres shows, agregó la fuente, habrá una "after party" en un antro llamado Mantra.
"Tal vez ahí se avienten un palomazo juntos, por ahí de las 02:00 horas", señaló.
Este festejo nace en Europa en el 2002, pero con el tiempo se ha realizado es distintas ciudades donde se han presentado figuras como Roger Sánchez, Nick Warren, Seb Fontaine, Nohn Nelly, entre otros.

Mexico city (december 9th, 2004).- The pop singer Michelle Branch will be tomorrow at the Work a Live! Lounge of Mexico City, as part of the event: Smirnoff Experience Inside, made because of the anniversary of the brand, a spokesman informed yesterday.
The logistic of the party where also will be Moenia and DJ Harry K from Apollo 440, is one of the three that will sing simultaneously in the best places in the south, added the source.
"it's a kind of anniversary of what's been already made in different parts of the world and Mexico adds on with a party of three events that is where are invited Michelle, Moenia and DJ for the different public.

CIUDAD DE MÉXICO, México, dic. 9, 2004.- Tal vez su nombre no sea tan ubicado, pero sin duda alguna su talento y su música sí lo es pues “The game of love”, tema que grabara con Carlos Santana, hizo a Michelle Branch debutar en los primeros lugares de popularidad en el 2002, y ahora, por primera vez visita México para ofrecer un concierto.
Breathe, The Spirit Room y Hotel paper son los álbumes con los que Michelle se ha dado a conocer, más sin embargo son varios los artistas que han grabado sus temas.
Branch es parte de la Smirnof Expericnce, una gira que presenta lo mejor de la escena electrónica mundial, una serie de fiestas itinerantes en lugares inusuales, un foro musical listo para hacer historia.
La agrupación mexicana Moenia estará acompañando a la estadounidense así como al Dj Harry K, quien formaba parte de la banda Apollo 440.
La Smirnof Experience será llevada al lugar de siempre, al antro de moda, y los visitantes de cada fin de semana se encontrarían, sin esperarlo, una sorpresa, donde los tres talentos musicales ocuparán el escenario en antros del sur de la Ciudad de México.

MEXICO CITY, Mexico, decembre 9th, 2004.- Maybe her name is not so well known, but without a doubt her talent and music are because "The game of love", the song that she ercorded with Carlos Santana, made Michelle Branch debut in the first places of popularity in 2002, and now, for the first time visits Mexico to offer a concert.
Breathe, The Spirit Room and Hotel paper are the albums which Michelle has been known, and anyway there are some different artists that have recorded her songs.
Branch is part of the Smirnof Expericnce, a tour that presents the best of the worldwide electronic scene, a serie of ongoing parties at unusual places, a musical forum ready to make history.
The mecican group Moenia will be accompaning to the american singer and also by Dj Harry K, who was part of the band Apollo 440.

La cantante lamentó en conferencia de prensa el asesinato del guitarrista a manos de un fan en un bar en Ohio

Ciudad de México (10 diciembre 2004).- La cantante estadounidense Michelle Branch lamentó este viernes el asesinato del guitarrista Darrel "Dimebag" Abbott a manos de un fan en un bar en Ohio.
En conferencia de prensa, Branch dijo que conoció al integrante de la banda Damageplan, y que fue fundador del grupo de rock Pantera.
"Lo conocí en Nueva York y me pareció una persona muy inteligente, y profesional. Quedé impactada con la noticia porque no podía creer que eso hubiera sucedido", comentó.
"Creo que es un hecho aislado y no pasa frecuentemente, afortunadamente, pero la verdad es que las autoridades deberían aprender con eso, que debe haber más seguridad, como detector de metales, en los clubes donde se dé un show".
La intérprete de "The Game of Love", que hizo con Carlos Santana y por la que ambos ganaron un premio Grammy, vino a la Ciudad de México para cantar en un evento privado para una conocida marca de vodka.

Mexico City(december 10th, 2004).- The american singer Michelle Branch was sorry this friday about the murder of the Darrel "Dimebag" Abbot, guitar player, in hands of a fan in a bar in Ohio.
In a press conference, Branch said she met the member of the band Damageplan, and that he was founder of the rock group Pantera.
"I met him in New York and he looked like a very smart and professional person. I was shocked with the news because i couldn't believe that it had happened", she commented.
"I think it was an isolated situation and fotunately it doesn't happen frecuently, but the truth is that authorities should learn with that, that there should be more security, like a metal detector in the clubes where there are shows".
The singer of "The Game of Love", that made with Carlos Santana and because of it, both won a grammy award, came to Mexico City to sing in a private evetn for a known vodka brand.

CIUDAD DE MÉXICO, México, dic. 10, 2004.- Como una niña dulce, llena de energía y emocionada por su primer actuación en México, es como se percibe a Michelle Branch, quien ofrece tres conciertos como parte de la gira Smirnoff Experience.
La mayoría la conocemos por su dueto con Carlos Santana en “The game of love”, con el cual logró ubicarse en los primeros lugares de las listas de popularidad en el 2002, sin embargo Branch ya cuenta con tres álbumes en su repertorio.
“Se que tal vez a mucha gente mi nombre no le diga mucho, pero cuando hacen la refencia de la chica que hizo el dueto con Santanta en “The game of love” entonces dicen , ahhh si, claro!”, dice Michelle.
Consciente de que su trayectoria no es mucha, pero si significativa, Michelle tiene muchos proyectos por delante, como el de llevar su música al cine y que varios artistas canten sus temas.
“No hace mucho empecé a hacer algunas composiciones para otras gentes, y es algo que me gustaría mucho en un futuro, que mis temas sonaran en voz de otros cantantes, ahora por ejemplo estoy trabajando con Mandy Moore en canciones para su próximo disco.
Es algo bueno, ahora me toca estar del otro lado, porque yo generalmente estoy en sus zapatos, y ahora estoy del lado de la compositora haciendo música para ella, eso me da un sentido más de crecimiento y de responsabilidad, es bueno”, agrega.
Para una niña que creció en Arizona, escuchando la colección de discos de su padre, generalmente de los Beatles, y que recibió su primera guitarra en su cumpleaños número 14 porque no había espacio para un piano en casa, las cosas dentro del mundo de la música se le han dado bastante rápido y bien.
“Yo nunca me imaginé de pequeña en mi casa de Arizona, que alguna vez estaría grabando en estudios, visitando países por Estados Unidos en gira e incluso venir hasta México para tocar aquí mis canciones, es algo impresionante.
Todo surgió muy rápido, mi demo tape llegó a manos de mi ahora manager porque resultó ser conocido de un amigo de la familia, y en un show en Los Ángeles se me acercó un ejecutivo de la casa disquera para pedirme que firmara. Todo simplemente fluyó muy bien y muy rápido, y estoy muy contenta”, dice Michelle.
EN ACÚSTICO ES MEJOR
El concierto que los fanáticos mexicanos de Michelle Branch escucharán es diferente a lo que generalmente ofrece cuando está de gira.
“Este show será un poco diferente, lo estoy haciendo en conjunto con la gira Smirnoff. Es un show acústico, no traigo a mi bada con la que canto cuando estoy de gira, pero si cantaré mis canciones y les daré lo mejor de mí. La verdad es que a mi me gusta más acústico, a veces me siento un poco egoísta por eso”, dice entre risas.
Sobre sus planes musicales reconoce que el dueto con Carlos Santana le abrió muchas puertas y se sienta muy afortunada por ello, sin embargo, ahora trabaja en conjunto con su amiga Jessica Harp, con la que están formando una banda.
“Mi amiga Jessica y yo estamos trabajando en las canciones de un álbum paralelo a mi carrera como solista, junto con otros amigos integramos la banda The Records, y pensamos sacar el álbum, promocionarlo y realizar una pequeña gira de conciertos en vivo”, comenta emocionada.
Su integración a The Records no significa su despedida como solista, puesto que terminando la promoción de es álbum se dedicará a componer temas para su cuarto disco, el sucesor de Hotel paper.

MEXICO CITY, Mexico, decemebr 10th, 2004.- as a sweet girl, full of energy and excited because of her first show in Mexico, it's like MIchelle Branch describes herself, who offers three concerts as part of the Smirnoff Experience tour.
Most of us know her because of her duet with Carlos Santana in "The game of love", with it she entered the first places in the popularity lists in 2002, but she already has 3 albums in her career.
"I know that my name may not mean a lot for many people, but when someone refers to the girl that made the duet with Santana in "The game of love" everybody says, oh yeah, sureeeee!! says Michelle.
Concious about her caeer not being long, but meaningful, Michelle has lots of projects ahead, as taking her music to the movies and that several artist sing her songs.
"Not a long time ago i started to make some compositions for other people and it's something i'd like a lot in the future, that my songs can be with the voice of other singers, now for example, i'm working with Mandy Moore in songs for her next album.
It's something good, now it's my turn to be on the other side, becase generally i'm in her shoes and now i'm in the side of the composer writing music for her, that gives me a sense of growing up and responsibility, it's good" she adds.
For a girl that gew up in Arizona, listening the album collection of her father, generally the Beatles, and that got her first guitar on her 14th birthday because there wasn't space for a piano at home, thing in the world of music have happened very fast and good.
"as a little girl, I never imagined in my home at Arizona that someday i'd be recording in a studio, visiting countries, along USA in tour and even coming to Mexico to play my songs here, it's something impressing".
Everything happened very fast, my demo tape got to the hands of my actual manager because he was known by a friend of the family, and at a show in Los Angeles an ejecutive from the label record got close to me to ask me to sign up. SImply everything flowed very good and fast, and i'm very happy" said Michelle.
ACOUSTIC IS BETTER
The concert that mexican fans of Michelle Branch will listen is different from what she generally does when she is on tour.
"This show will be a bit different, i'm making it along the Smirnoff tour. It's an acoustic show, the band that is with me on tours is not here, but i will sing my songs and will give the best from me. The truth is i like more acoustic, sometim, sometimes i feel a but selfish because of it", she says between laughs.
About her musical plans she admits that the duet with Carlos Santana opened her a lot of doors and she feels very lucky because of it, but anyway, now she is working along her friend Jessica Harp and they are forming a band.
"My friend Jessica and i are working in the songs of a parallel album to my single career, along with other friends we integrate the band the Records (special note from Zap... looks at the address bar.. oh.. i'm at thewreckerks.org site.. mm.. something looks wrong here.. LOL) and we think in releasing the album, promote it and make a small tour of live concerts", she excitedly comented
Her integration to The Records (again.. LOL..) doesn't mean her goodbye as a single singer, because she has already finished the promotion of that albim and she will dedicate to compose songs for her 4th album, the succesor of Hotel Paper.

Branch, quien está en México para presentarse en concierto privado con el grupo mexicano Moenia, indicó que haber hecho ese dueto con Santana fue una de las mejores cosas que pudo ocurrirle como cantante. "Haber trabajado con él fue una bendición en mi carrera a nivel mundial, porque por lo general mi música sólo llegaba a la juventud, y con esta participación he podido llegar a otro tipo de público", comentó la interprete de rock pop en conferencia de prensa.

La cantante calcula que su próximo disco de estudio calcula que estará listo para el otoño del 2005

Ciudad de México (11 diciembre 2004).- La intérprete estadounidense Michelle Branch lamentó que varios directivos de su sello disquero Maverick Records, que en México pertenece a Warner Music, no le den luz verde para que la canción "I'm Feeling You", que grabó con Carlos Santana, sea incluida en el nuevo material del jalisciense.
Branch aseguró en entrevista que el argumento que un director artístico de Maverick Records le da es que no quiere que el público la vuelva a asociar con Santana, luego de que ambos grabaron el éxito "The Game of Love".
"A veces no entiendo por qué cierta gente trabaja en las disqueras. Sé que lo único que buscan es que vendamos discos, pero lo que yo quiero es mi libertad creativa.
"Me hace sentir frustrada que no me dejen que salga la canción, que ya está hecha, aprobada por Carlos, y todo porque dicen que otra vez no sería recomendable, cuando yo creo que sí lo sería, digo, es Santana, y es un estupendo artista, es parte de mi desarrollo artístico", comentó Branch.
Incluso, añadió, "I'm Feeling You" le gusta más que "The Game of Love", el tema que le dio a ambos un Grammy el año pasado en la categoría de Mejor Interpretación Vocal Pop en Colaboración.
Hasta el cierre de esta edición, no se encontró a ningún vocero de su disquera en México, para que diera su opinión.
Aprecia la cultura mexicana
Reconocida por algunas canciones de sus discos de estudio The Spirit Room y Hotel Paper, Branch comentó ser conocedora de la cultura mexicana porque en su natal Arizona hay mucha influencia de ella.
De hecho, su mamá es gerente del Jabalina Cantina, un restaurante donde se sirve comida mexicana.
"Me crié en Arizona y ahí se siente mucha influencia de México. Los muebles, la arquitectura de muchas casas, la decoración, son muy rústicas, que es un estilo muy mexicano y hasta en el hotel que maneja mi mamá hay de todo, lo que más me gustan son las margaritas".
Branch, quien nació el 2 de julio de 1983 en Flagstaff, Arizona, sorprendió a su familia en mayo pasado cuando luego de un paseo con varios amigos, entre ellos su novio Theodore, decidió casarse en una isla del Mar de Cortés, en Baja California.
"Ya lo habíamos pensado, pero no nos animábamos y ése viaje fue ideal. Yo le propuse a Theodore que lo hiciéramos y cuando se enteró mi mamá pues nos felicitó, pero no le hizo mucha gracia.
"Antes ya habíamos platicado de boda, pero por parte de mi papá por lo menos tendrían que haber ido como diez primos y diez hermanos, así que le ahorré a mi marido todo el gasto de una boda en grande. Yo ni de novia estaba vestida, Theodore usaba bermudas, fue mágico, muy lindo", detalló la intérprete de "All You Wanted" y "Everywhere".
Su esposo, explicó Branch, es bajista, y actualmente toca en su banda, pero antes, estuvo de planta con el cantautor británico Seal.
Michelle Branch está trabajando actualmente en un proyecto discográfico compartido con su amiga Jessica Harp y su próximo disco de estudio calcula que estará listo para el otoño del 2005.

Branch, who was born in July 2nd, 1983 in Flagstagg, Arizona, urprised her family in last may when after a walk with several friends along with her boyfriend Theodore, she decided to get maried in an island at the Cortés Sea, in Baja California.
"we had already thought about it, but we didn't give the final step and that trip was perfect. I told Theodore to do it and when my mother knew she congratulated us, but didn't like it much".
"We had talked about maryiinf bedore, but from the side of my father, at least should have gone 20 cousins and ten brothers, that way i saved my husband all the money spent in a big wedding. I wasn't even dressed with the usual long dress, Theodore was wearing shorts, it was magic, very nice, detailed the singer of "All You Wanted" and "Everywhere".
Her husband, explained Branch, is a bass player, and actually plays in her band, but before, he was working with the brit singer Seal.
Michelle Branch is actually working in a project shared with her friend Jessica Harp and she estimated her next studio record will be ready for Fall 2005.

Ciudad de México (11 diciembre 2004).- El el Insite Tour 2004, en el que participaron la cantante estadounidense Michelle Branch, el Grupo Moenia y el DJ Harry K, el público se desveló porque el show empezó a la 1:00 de la madrugada y terminó hasta casi las 6:00 horas de este sábado.
En lo que fue la primera presentación de Branch en México, la intérprete cantó sólo acompañada de su guitarra en el escenario del Work a Live! Lounge.
Branch cantó el éxito que la hizo popular junto a Carlos Santana, "The Game of Love", además de algunas canciones de sus dos discos de estudio "The Spirit Room" y "Hotel Paper", así como "Everywhere", "Good bye to You" y "Are you happy now?".
Después en el escenario del Bar Río, Moenia cantó en un show que inició a partir de las 3:00 durante poco más de una hora.
La tercia de música electrónica seleccionó algunas canciones de su nuevo disco como "Ni tú ni nadie" y otras ya conocidas como "Manto estelar" y "En qué momento".
Después tocó la participación de Harry K en el Bar "El Cluv" y en el cual utilizó canciones de las más populares de la música electrónica actual. |

The american singer Michelle Branch, who was invited by Carlos Santana to sing "The Game of Love", from his album Chaman, is for the first time in Mexico, to make a show in a bar at the south of the city.
In a press conference, the singer that just in 2001 launched her first album "The spirit room", affirmed that the experience of working with Santana was comparable to have a "spiritual practice".
"when i was next to him, i felt like a monk from who i learned a lot, that experience as musician, enriched my career enourmously, it was a full bless that opened many doors, it was a real spiritual experience", she expressed.
The singer who has shared a musical tour by the side of Sheryl Crow, said that the most important she try to reach with her music is to stablish a bridge between the heart of whom listens to her and herself.
"The only advise i give with my music to the young people is that they listen to their hearts, as i do and as i did, i never imagined to visit so many places and be treated how people do now, but i owe that to what i always was guided for what the heart told me", she said.
Dressed with simple jeans, under a grey suit and covered by a hat in the same color, the young singer was sorry about what happened yesterday in a bar at USA, where a fan shot agains Dimegab Darell, ex-guitar player of the power metal group Pantera.
"it's a very lame event, i knew him and this got me very sad, i've never tried to get involved in social or political situations with my music, but i think that's related to the situation we live", she commented.

Aunque nunca había pisado México para ofrecer un concierto, Michelle Branch, quien cumple una fugaz visita a la capital del país, aseguró que está cautivada por la cultura mexicana, tanto que escogió una pequeña isla en el Mar de Cortés para casarse con el bajista de su banda, Theodore Landau.
"Soy muy impulsiva, aunque esta decisión no fue impulsiva porque me siento contenta y plena; soy una persona que cuando sabe lo que quiere, lo toma.
"Incluso tengo amigas más grandes que se la pasan diciendo que tal vez nunca encontrarán al chico adecuado; no quise esperar, porque nunca sabes qué es lo que te pueda pasar, incluso para mí ha sido mejor porque ahora tengo un compañero de aventuras", explicó Branch.
A sus escasos 21 años, la cantante afirma que pasa por una de sus mejores etapas, tanto que siente que cada canción que escribe es un tanto cursi.
"De hecho, ha sido en detrimento de mi música porque sólo escribo, aunque sea el trillado cliché, cuando estoy sola o deprimida, y ahora cada canción trata sobre ser feliz, así que suenan cursis; extraño los días en los que escribía porque hacía las cosas mal", agregó en entrevista.
Ahora, a dos años de no haber lanzado disco, Branch afirma que decidió tomar un receso para aprender nuevas cosas y darse tiempo para crear un dueto junto a una amiga. "Estoy terminando un álbum con Jessica Harp y el disco es un poco más orgánico y folk, con influencias country y será editado bajo el sello disquero The Records", expresó y dijo que espera que salga a la venta en marzo.
Con un éxito global, sobre todo después de haber colaborado en el disco Supernatural de Carlos Santana, Michelle afirma que aceptó la promoción Smirnoff experience para tocar en una discoteca al sur de la ciudad.
Con boina café, sudadera y tenis, Branch comentó que se siente atraída por la música de mariachi y que su canción favorita es "Sabor a mí".
"Siempre amé la cultura mexicana, mi mamá es el manager de un restaurante de comida mexicana, así que siempre me ha gustado el arte, los muebles, la cultura y el único lugar donde me he sentido atraída de la misma forma que es España", concluyó. |

Despite she had never been in Mexico to offer a concert, Michelle Branch, who is in a flash visit to the capital of the country, affirmed she islove with the mexican culture, so much that she chose a small island at the Sea of Cortés to get marry with the bass player of her band, Theodore Landau.
"I'm very impulsice, even thought this decision was not impulsive because i feel happy and fullfilled, i'm a person that when know what it want, it takes it."
"Even i have older friend that keep on saying that maybe they will never find the perfect guym i didn't want to wait, because you never know what will happen, even to me has been the best because now i have an adventure partner", explained Branch.
At her 21 years old, the singer affirms that she goes through one of her best times, so much that she feels that each sonhs that she writes is more than sweet.
"In fact, it has been in detriment of my music because i only write, despite it sounds repetitive, cliché, when i'm alone or sepressed, and now every songs is about being happy, so they sound sweeter, i miss the days when i wrote because i made something wrong", added at the interview.
Now, two years after not launching a new album, Branch affirms that she decided to take a break to learn new things and give her time to create a duet with a friend. "I'm finishing an album with Jessica Harp and the record os more organic and folk, with country influences and will be eited under the label The Records", she expressed and said she hoped to be launched in March.
With a global success, mostly after the colaboration with the Supernatural album of Carlos Santana, Michelle affirms she accepted the Smirnoff experience promotion to play in a disco at the south of the city.
With a green hat, sweatshirt and tennis shoes, Branch commentes she feels atracted by the mariachi music and that her favorite song is "Sabor a mi".
"I always loved mexican culture, my mother is the manager of a restaurant of mexican food, so i've always liked the art, the furniture, the culture and the only other place i¿ve feel attracted in the same way is Spain", she concluded. |
